Tips for FBC Daily Bible Reading

1. Remember that the Bible is one of God’s gifts to the world. It is God speaking to us and revealing His Wisdom, His Counsel, His Expectations, His Plans and His Love for us and for the world we live in. Understanding that the Bible is a living book in which God speaks directly to us causes spiritual growth as we seek and obtain God’s power, presence and guidance in our lives.

2. Select a version of the Bible you can easily understand and maintain your focus. This can be the KJV, NKJV, NIV, RSV, Amplified Bible, NLT, or Living Bible, to name a few.

3. You may use a print Bible or your phone, iPad, or computer.  This is left to your personal preference and should use a format you are most comfortable with and can maintain consistently.

4. When possible, set aside a specific time each day. Set your schedule and then stick to it. Mornings are great, but feel free to use any time that works consistently for you.

5. Read the Bible for the sake of learning, not to “just get it done”.

6. Say a short prayer before you begin, asking the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and understanding, then seek to understand the power and meaning of the chapters and passages you read.

7. If you can, keep a short log or journal of what you learned or how the Holy Spirit spoke to you through your readings. Review you log occasionally to see how God is blessing and leading you through His Word and through 2025.
